ELA Returns Policy

(eff. 1/3/2017)

The return policy of the Education Law Association is as follows:

1. Any book (s) returned must be in new condition. There may be no stamps, marks, stickers, etc. in/on the books. An additional reduction of $.75 per book will be noted in any credit given for the removal or re-wrapping of each book.

2. Book(s) must be returned within 60 days of invoice date, noting exceptions below. Please place your future orders with due consideration.

3. The remittance or shipping copy of the original invoice must be included with your returned book(s).

4. Customer is responsible for return and original postage.

5. A restocking fee of $3 per book will be charged.

6. Any book (s) returned must be securely packed so as to avoid damage during return shipment. Books returned without original shrink-wrap will receive no credit.

7. There are NO returns permitted for electronic items (e-books, podcasts, etc.) or clearance items.

If the above requirements are met, the book(s) may be shipped back to us for credit. ELA will issue a credit within thirty (30) days. Refunds will be processed on request only. Charge-backs will not be accepted.

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

Shipping

All books are shipped through the US Postal Service using Media Mail where available, or First Class or Priority depending on weight. A request to ship in any other manner will result in additional charges to cover any difference in cost.

Shipping is based on subtotal of your order:

Subtotal up to $19.99, add $5.65

Subtotal $20 - $49.99, add $7.65

Subtotal $50 - $99.99, add $9.65

Subtotal $100-$175.99, add $14.65

Subtotal $176 and above, add $18.65

Overseas Orders Add 35 percent of subtotal

* Consignee/freight collect is subject to a handling charge. Shipping prices subject to change. 

Refunds for Seminar other than Annual Conference

Any cancellation must be made in writing, either by fax or email. A substitution may be made at any time but please know that a name tag or other materials may have been prepared for the original registrant. If a cancellation is made at least 21 days in advance, a full refund will be provided. If a cancellation is submitted between 20 and 7 days in advance a refund of 50% of the registration will be provided. A cancellation less than 7 days in advance will not be granted a refund. Open purchase orders will be credited / invoiced in the same manner.

Damaged/Defective Books

1. Defective / damaged books must be returned within 30 days for credit or replacement.

2. In this instance, shipping will be paid by us. There will be no restocking fee.

3. You must call the office first for instructions on how to return the damaged / defective book (s).

4. Book shortages must be reported within 30 days of invoice date to receive credit.

Return of Outdated Titles.

Specific outdated titles attempted to be returned for credit will be refused after the dates below.

Will not be accepted for return after September 30, 2016. A third edition was released in July 2015.

• Legal Problems of Religious and Private Schools (6th ed., 2012)

ISBN 10: 1-56534-151-1; ISBN 13: 978-1-56534-151-7

A new edition is expected to be released in 2016. Watch future notices for the last acceptance date.

• The Principal’s Legal Handbook (5th ed., 2013)

ISBN-13: 978-1-56534-154-8

A new edition is expected to be released in 2017. Watch future notices for the last acceptance date.
