This roundtable will discuss how two theoretical frameworks—education policy implementation theory and multiple ethical paradigms—were used to design curriculum and pedagogy for an online, advanced graduate-level school law course for aspiring principals and other school leaders. The author will share how the course learning activities and assessments align to these frameworks by threading an understanding of federal and state laws (policies) with the local phenomena of ethical decision making and policy implementation (procedures). Participants will engage in rich discussion about how these frameworks can inform course design to meet the National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) standards.
