Thomas Harvey is currently the Department Chair for the Educational Leadership Department at Lamar University, located in Beaumont, Texas. His research agenda is focused on administrator internships. He recently co-authored a textbook for the superintendent internship.

Prior to becoming a graduate faculty member, Harvey served as a public school administrator and served as a district superintendent at two distinctly different school districts. He also served as a campus principal at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.

Harvey often collaborates and conducts research with other ELA members.  These members include Stewart Mayers, Todd Williams, and Katy Corcoran.
