David S. Doty is Vice President, Engaged Learning at Management & Training Corporation in Centerville, UT, where he provides leadership and support to academic, career/technical, and substance abuse programs at over 30 Job Corps centers and correctional facilities across the United States. Prior to joining MTC, Dr. Doty was the first superintendent of Canyons School District, which was the first new school district to be created in Utah in 100 years. He also worked as an Assistant Commissioner for the Utah Board of Regents, and was a practicing attorney for 12 years, specializing in the representation of public schools and colleges. Dr. Doty began his education career as a high school Spanish teacher in Millbrae, CA. Dr. Doty earned his B.A. in Spanish from Brigham Young University, his M.Ed. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Education, his J.D. from Brigham Young University, and his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University. He was previously on the ELA Board of Directors, and is a member of both the Utah State Bar and the South Carolina Bar.
