Biography

Brian Boggs, Ph.D., J.D., is an Assistant Professor of Policy and Educational Leadership at the University of Michigan. He has written extensively on educational organizational complexity, specifically as it affects urban schools, policy, and the intersectionality of law and education. He has most recently been published in the Mitchell Hamline Law Journal of Public Policy and Practice called “Expression of LGBTQ Student Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in the K-12 Educational System,” and Teachers College Record at Columbia called “Conceptualizing Virtual Instructional Resource Enactment in an Era of Greater Centralization, Specification of Quality Instructional Practices, and Proliferation of Instructional Resources.” Further, he has published book chapters in: Handbook of Urban Education Leadership; Handbook of Education Politics and Policy; School to Prison Pipeline; Emerging Issues and Trends in Education; Beyond Marginality; and Educational Policy Goes to School. Finally, he has also been published in the Journal of School Public Relations. He holds a Ph.D. in educational policy from Michigan State University and J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He also holds a BA in English and History and an MA in English Language and Literature, specializing in Rhetoric, both from the University of Michigan-Flint.
